Sketching...

Despite the fact that I am relishing the freedom of drawing without thought of pleasing anyone but myself, I really did very little of it in Italy. Just a couple while on the beach. I think I put myself off because I didn't like what I did do. So much for this only pleasing myself thing! I am, as ever, my harshest critic and the one hardest to please. However, I'm going to post them here for the sake of honesty. We're all allowed a few mistakes, right?

Sketchbook update....at last!

At last, and not for the first time, I have found a quite moment to once again apologise, to myself as much as anyone! for this long delay in updating my blog and to then subsequently update said blog. This time it is a continuation of the sketchbook work for my ongoing project The House of Bernarda Alba. Mostly just thumbnails and rough sketches though, so I'm not sure of their actual interest value. I thought I'd share  anyway, if only to appease my own conscious.

The House of Bernarda Alba continued.......

Well, what can I say, I haven't uploaded in a very long time now and so consequently there is quite a backlog! Just so you know, it took me many hours to scan nearly 30 pages!.........ok, not many hours.....maybe, half of one but still, a long time :) Hopefully the work is worth it? I'll leave you to decide on that one.

The House of Bernarda Alba

So, a couple of weeks ago I started a new project! Very exciting :) and this time it's...... another play. "The House of Bernarda Alba" was written by Lorca in Spain in 1936. It takes a minute and uncompromising glimpse into the lives of a family of five sisters who are ruled over by their tyrannical mother, Bernarda Alba. I want to take it into etching eventually although it's been fun turning my hand to pen and ink.
