The Sketchbook Project is an excellent initiative in America to encourage people to be creative. Every year (around october time I think) you can sign up, pick a theme and they send you little sketch book which you then commence to fill with whatever you like while using the theme as a starting point. At the end of January you send the sketchbook back and then ALL the sketchbooks are collated together into an exhibition that travels the world! This is my contribution to this years Sketchbook Project. It's been an absolute pleasure to do and I would advise everyone to do it, we need more creativity in this old world :)
My Theme was "Forever in a nutshell."

Christmas?
Yes, I know, Christmas has been and gone for another year and so you may well wonder at my writing it as the title for this post. The fact is that I am continuing in the spirit of my blog so far, in posting now, what I should have posted four weeks ago, if I was any good at keeping abreast of my work. These images, therefore, are from just before Christmas when I found myself trying to create personal presents for my wonderful friends while on a tight student budget! The result was a room strewn with miniscule pieces of cut paper, a desk piled high with the same and of course, the actual images themselves, cut from the pages of the books.

"The principality of the sky lightens now, over our green hill, into spring morning larked and crowed and belling."
And finally.....................the pieces that came out of, and were inspired by, all the "Under Milk Wood" images I have posted thus far. I hope you like, I'm quite pleased myself :)
For all these pieced I used a mixture of collage, watercolour and pencils.
"Now behind the eyes and secrets of the dreamers in the streets rocked to sleep by the sea."
It's been a while since I last uploaded, but I have just a few more images from the end of my "Under Milk Wood" project which I wanted to share. Here they are............
"We shared the same girl once...Her name was Mrs Probert..."
"Rosie Probert, thirty three Duck Lane. Come on up, boys, I'm dead."
"The owls are hunting."
"Look, over by Bethesda gravestones one hoots and swoops and catches a mouse by Hannah Rees, Boloved Wife."
